Our founder, Julia, has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. When a globe-trotting friend described Boise as “the epicenter of the nicest people in the world,” she starting thinking about how to Keep Boise Nice long into the future. Julia envisioned a community organization that shed light on Boise Nice stories while supporting local non-profits, and within a few months, she launched Keep Boise Nice with the help of family, friends, and the rest of the Boise community!
Today, Julia continues Keep Boise Nice with dreams of running events which unite Boise citizens in environmental and socially-conscious efforts. She encourages all of us to go out of our way to do something generous for our neighbors and friends, so that we can all help Keep Boise Nice.
Julia is motivated by accelerating collaborative efforts amongst unlikely partners that produce new and lasting results for businesses, landowners, communities and the environment. After moving to Boise with her husband 20 years ago from Colorado not knowing a soul, they feel blessed to be raising their four “free range” children in a community where “Boise Nice” is the standard not the exception.
Madeline is Boise native and a sophomore journalism and public relations student at the University of Oregon. With a lifelong passion for writing, she loves exploring the limits of storytelling and communication in order to amplify marginalized voices and contribute to her community.
